Breaking Generational Patterns & Healing Trauma

with Psalm Isadora & Andrew Soliz

Yoga, Meditation & Traditional Lakota Sweatlodge

The intention of this retreat is to come together to pray, sweat and share our human stories through healing ceremonies and compassionate community.

Mitakuye O'yasin...All my relations.

In the Lakota tradition they say Mitakuye O'yasin (all my relations). The work we do to heal ourselves restores balance and wholeness both within and without. It heals our families, loved ones, communities, reaching out into the sacred hoop of all life and the earth herself for we are all inter connected.

Traditional Lakota Sweatlodge Ceremony

The Sweatlodge ceremony is a returning to the womb of our mother, the womb of MotherEarth. To be reborn through prayer and steam (breath of the Buffalo). It is one of the seven sacred ceremonies bought to the Lakota and still to this day is done by the people in the way it was bought to us. The Sweatlodge is about prayer and purifying. It is not a test of strength or a place to endure suffering. The womb of our mother is nurturing and life giving. As with all ceremonies there is protocol to follow and these must be honored with respect to the Traditions of the people who this sacred ceremony was bought to many thousands of years ago and for the very sacred being who brought it to them. Today we enter a Sweatlodge before other ceremonies, to "steam off" in preparation and we also sweat throughout the months to continually keep us renewed physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Andrew Soliz will be "pouring the water" for the Sweatlodge. He is a Sun Dancer and Pipe carrier in the Lakota tradition. He has spent many years involved with the people and ceremonies leading him to "pour water" for numerous people. Andrew Soliz is a very compassionate man and carries a deep respect for the Traditional ways, honoring protocol and ceremony with the prayers and safety of all who participate paramount.

Andrew Soliz

Spending time with Ceremonial Leader Andrew Soliz could very well alter the way you look at the sun, the stars, and the canvas that is your life. Tatankamani (Walking Buffalo), a Pipe Carrier, Sun Dancer, and Healer, carries the traditional teachings of Native American people with wisdom, compassion and concern for the tiospaye that is his human family.

By listening deeply and with compassion, Andrew guides people to bring forth their own unique healing powers. He holds sacred space with his gentle strength and integrity providing an opportunity for healing and to celebrate the spirit in each of us.
