Sri Amritananda
His generosity, love, service and grace has changed my life profoundly. His message is one of universal acceptance and unconditional love,
he offers the ancient teachings to everyone, regardless of religion. He gave me the courage to follow my heart and deep strength of
purpose for my own creativity and service through all forms of yoga (union with the Highest).

On this trip to India we flew into Delhi and went to Goa to help our friend Rohan open his restaurant. We met Rohan in Varkala,
Kerala in July 2007, he was a waiter at a restaurant we went to often. He opened his heart to us and told us his dream of opening
a restaurant in Goa that winter. We asked how we could help, he asked us to come back to help open it, and to bring $500. Some
students donated money to bring from west to east, some money came from the retreat we hosted in Goa and this small amount of money
made it possible for Rohan to open his restaurant without any loans. It was a blessing to be involved in the process, to help decorate
and paint the signs. By helping Rohan make his dream come true, I was given the great gift of new friends for a lifetime. Then we had
the Yoga Immersion retreat in a beach town in Goa. After that, some members of our group went to Taj Mahal, Rishikesh, Pune and my
Guruji's ashram out in the country near Vizag.

I went on this trip alone, to be immersed in the motherland of yoga and to meet a teacher i felt drawn to learn from.
I started in Hyderabad staying with my friend Lakshmi and her family. Then I travelled to Ammachi's ashram in Kerala.
There I met Swami Samarpanananda who I travelled to study with in Kovalam, a beach town in Kerala. From there I made a
pilgrimage to the southern most tip of India, Kanyukamari with friends I met at Ammachi's ashram. Then I travelled to meet the
teacher I had been hoping to see, Sri Amritananda. He initiated me into Sri Vidya and became my Guru. His generosity, love,
service and grace changed my life profoundly. He gave me the courage to follow my heart and deep strength of purpose for my
own creativity and service through all forms of yoga (union with the Highest). Guruji asked me to teach yoga at the ashram
to the people living there and to a woman's group in Vizag. He also asked me to return in July and bring my western students
and to teach a workshop during the celebration of Guru Pournima (Guru Moon). It was such a joy to teach yoga at the ashram,
everyone greeted me with open hearts and so much sincerity.
